School Readiness

An important part of what we do at Diggers is preparing the children for school. It is so rewarding for us to know that a child is ready for their next big adventure. Each year we offer plenty of advice and support to parents who have big decisions to make about which school to choose.

Every August we hold our Graduation Ceremony for those children who will be shortly heading off to school. It’s a bittersweet moment for us at Diggers as we say goodbye, although we enjoy all the hard work that goes into making this day a very memorable occasion for all those who attend.

Forever in My Heart

Although we are not their parents
We care for them each day,
We cuddle, sing and read to them
And watch them as they play.
We see each new accomplishment,
And help the grow and learn.
We understand their language,
And listen with concern
They come to us for comfort,
And we wipe away their tears.
They proudly show their skills to us,
We give the loudest cheers!
No, we’re not their parents,
But our role is just as strong.
We nurture them and keep them safe,
Though maybe not for long.
We knew this day would one day come,
When they would have to part.
But we know each child we’ve cared for,
Is forever in our heart….

All of our family are very sorry to be saying goodbye. You have given Miriam an exceptional start to learning and I hope and pray that all of her educational settings from here will be as loving, caring, thoughtful and imaginative.
