A Unique Environment
Diggers Forest School provides a unique environment for children aged 20 months to 5 years and has a holistic approach to learning, education and wellbeing. Founded in 2007 Diggers was originally an after-school club, and our first full-time setting in South Harting opened in 2015.
Forest School Ethos
Diggers follows the Forest School ethos and the ‘Early Years Foundation Stage’. We have worked hard to develop our approach in order to offer a unique and balanced learning foundation for all children, so that they can reach their individual potential. Our Forest School is very different to a typical early years setting as we have access to vast amounts of outdoor space, across woodland and farmland for children to explore, learn and discover.
Our History
Diggers was founded in 2007 by Caroline Levitt and two friends Nick and Helena, and based at Steep Primary School near Petersfield which was attended by their children at the time.
Our Team
Our unique setting has an incredible team of people and they are by far our biggest asset. All staff and volunteers are DBS checked, and between them hold an impressive portfolio of qualifications.
Sites & Mentoring
Due to the success of our existing Forest School, which is over-subscribed and has a long waiting list, we would dearly love to expand by opening another setting.
Diggers Stroke Workshop
We are really excited about our new, innovative and ground-breaking project. With the support of the Stroke Association an innovative pilot project for stroke survivors took place in 2019. The project proved to be incredibly popular and although currently on hold due to the pandemic, it will be restarting in due course.
